We cannot recommend Michael highly enough. He is such a lovely person and he has a beautiful voice, perfect for weddings and special occasions! We could not have asked for a more relaxed and gracious musician. Our wedding was outdoors by the water and the sound quality was superb both outdoors and inside the venue.

Michael was fantastic to work with in the planning stages too. We spoke several times before the wedding and a few emails back and forward with ideas and then we met up at the venue and discussed how the day would go.
Michael offered helpful suggestions around song choice and even learnt a new song for us which he sang beautifully. We are very grateful and he definitely went over and above for us.

I was organising a Christmas Function and I was looking for an acoustic performer during the sit down dinner part of the evening. Michael made it very easy. He is quick to respond and made my life better by being able to assist with the entertainment for later in the night as well. The result was a fantastic 5 hour event that flowed seamlessly through dinner, formalities and onto dancing.

I was impressed with the song selections, style and the overall sound was amazing, hitting the exact spot for our Corporate event, and elevating it well above our usual DJ entertainment.
I have received numerous compliments on the entertainment and questions on how I found them. I would highly recommend Michael individually and in addition, his band, to anyone having an event.
We will definitely be using them again for future events.

We hired Michael for a joint 50th birthday party at Broadbeach recently. He was an absolute professional from start to finish. All interactions with him the week before were very pleasant and he clearly outlined his role, what he would be doing for us, the price and the timing for the evening. On the night, he arrived on time and given we were a little late starting with the music due to late arrivals and speeches, he then sang and played non stop until the party ended (even though he was entitled to breaks). The crowd absolutely loved him, as we did.
I could not recommend Michael highly enough – so talented and working with him was seamless!

Michael Hickey performed at my husband’s surprise 60th and his music was an integral part of the success of the party! In the lead up to the party all my special requests were met and he took the time to come and inspect the venue to be sure of his set up on the night. He judged the mood of the party and varied the music accordingly and played for 4 hours with only a short break. Later in the evening, we had great fun dancing to a variety of classic and contemporary hit songs.

I first saw Michael play at a restaurant one evening, and instantly thought “that guy would be perfect for my upcoming birthday party”. Well, Michael did indeed end up playing at my party – a professionally catered event with 120 family and friends attending. I met Mike when he was performing at a friend’s birthday party. The music he plays is just perfect for a crowd who loves the Classics as well as the Top 40. At one point he had the whole party joining in and even let one of the guests share the microphone! Having him there on his guitar definitely set the mood of the night.

I was recommended to Mike Hickey through a mutual friend when we were planning my 50th Birthday party. And how delighted were we! Mike was an absolute gent! He came to visit the venue so we could discuss the set up, number of guests, lighting etc. and was so obliging. We explained that we just wanted a very casual arrangement of just one singer with an acoustic guitar. On the day of the event he arrived super early to set up everything perfectly.

As the evening started, Mike played lots of wonderful background music, sang lots of good tunes throughout the night and towards the end of the evening we were all having a good old sing song with him. We left Mike to choose all the songs and we were not disappointed. We could not have wished for a more brilliant entertainer! He was fabulous and all our guests raved about him.

I just wanted to tell you once more how much I loved your performance last night. I enjoyed all of your songs and had a couple stuck in my head for hours after… Fantastic! You have such a great set list and the way you make the songs your own is incredible. Your renditions of Iris and Whataya Want From Me in particular were amazing! I love a person with guitar and voice and talent. It seems simple enough but it doesn’t always need to be complicated. My friend said it was nice to watch a performer that loves what he does rather than just sitting there going through the motions!
